Former Premier League stars Martin Keown and Scott Parker believe forward Kai Havertz was to blame for Arsenal’s winner against Chelsea on Sunday.
Chelsea failed to deal with Bukayo Saka’s corner as Gabriel scored the only goal of the match from close range in the second half at Stamford Bridge.
Havertz was guarding the near-post as the corner came in, but the German failed to clear the ball before it also flew past Thiago Silva and Edouard Mendy to be met by Gabriel.
Commenting on Arsenal’s winner, Parker told BT Sport: “You’re always massively disappointed when you concede from a set-piece.
“I don’t know why Havertz has gone so far forward before the corner. If he goes deeper he can come on to it, instead, he starts high and then starts running back and then he’s got a lot to deal with.”
On his part, Keown added: “Kai Havertz has got to do better there. He swings a lazy leg at that.”
