2023: We will win majority political offices in Abia – APGA

The All Progressives Grand Alliance has expressed concern over attempts by alleged political traducers to deliberately destabilize the party.

The party said it is poised to go into the coming elections and secure victory in the majority of elective political offices in Abia State, including the senate, house of representatives, state assembly and local government areas councils.

Ozonkpu Victor Ike Oye, the national chairman of APGA was speaking during the recent meeting of the National Working Committee of the party held at the national secretariat in Abuja, wherein, he evaluated the outcome of various primaries done throughout the country and the preparedness of APGA in various states to prosecute the 2023 general elections.

It was contained in a release by the National Publicity Secretary of APGA, Tex Okechukwu, forwarded to Newspot on Monday.

He further emphasized that despite all the challenges facing APGA, the party was going to triumph and have its presidential candidate in the person of Retired Justice Peter Umeadi.

Oye maintained that the opposition political party in Nigeria is currently advancing in its growth and development across the state chapters in the federation and further expressed optimism that APGA will emerge successful by securing a majority of elective political seats in the forthcoming general elections in the country.

Oye who also took time to analyse the possibility of any political party winning the presidential election, opined that it depends only on the ability of the party to get 25 percent votes cast in 2/3 (two-thirds) of the 36 states of the Federation.

“Therefore, it is going to be a tough battle in the coming presidential election, “he added.

Similarly, the national leadership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance has dissolved the Benue State Working Committee of the party.

This followed a motion moved during the enlarged meeting of the National Working Committee of the party in Abuja.

“Another motion was moved for the election of a new state chairman which was done and a new Benue State chairman was elected in the person of Joseph Ogli,” according to the release.

On APGA’s chances of securing a win in the forthcoming March 2023 gubernatorial election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abia State, the party national chairman, Victor Ike Oye, stated that the State governorship seat is already won because the APGA candidate, Professor Greg Ibe, is amazingly acceptable and described the philanthropist as God-fearing and possessing the capacity and the needed competence and expertise to win the election and form the next government in Abia State to be able to provide dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of every Abia citizens and her residents when he successfully emerged as the Governor of Abia state in 2023.

He applauded the national officers, Chief Uchenna Okogbuo, Carol Okoroafor and Mr Simeon Onyemere for their genuine passions, leadership acumen and maximum support to the party and development, and further confided that with these people of proven integrity and capacity, the Abia governorship seat election is concluded and won by the All Progressives Grand Alliance by next year.
