The convener of Yoruba Ko’ya, a Southwest socio-cultural group, Otunba Deji Osibogun has expressed lack of confidence in the abilities of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, PDP’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar and APC’s Bola Tinubu, to rule the country.
Giving his assessment of the top three candidates in a video, Otunba Osibogun said, “self righteousness, selfish interest is the meaning of Emilokan (it’s my turn).
Rightly, people can say it’s a Yoruba project because a Yoruba man is vying for it. But what we see is that the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria that either Emilokan or Atikulated or Obidients is going to run is so faulty that the fear beyond 2023 is my own problem.”
“I asked one of the elder statesman who ruled the country and he said it’s the same constitution and I ruled, but I said the same constitution is different from the people who now want to run it.
One of them was your vice President, one of them was the Governor of Lagos State, one of them was the Governor of Anambra and the three of them for me, don’t have my pass mark. Why? Because of their antecedents. If we want a monarch or an empire ruled by an emperor, then we can say Emilokan. If we want the feudal North ruling Nigeria then we can say, Awonlokan (it’s their turn).
If we want voting for a certain future because A and B has done it but C has not done it, then let’s vote for C because it has not done it, then we won’t be there.”
