16-Year-Old Apprentice Allegedly Raped by Mistress’ Husband Commits Suicide In Oyo

A 16-year-old girl, Olayemi, committed suicide after her mistress’ husband allegedly raped her in Oyo State.

Olayemi, usually hawked with her mother at Temidire town in the state until someone complained about her idleness and introduced her parents to a trusted mistress where she was enrolled for apprenticeship training at Eruwa.

Her mistress agreed to shelter the child with her parents’ consent while under training because of the distance from home to her place of work.

One fateful day, her parents were informed that Olayemi had ingested some chemicals after being raped by her mistress’ husband and she decided to commit suicide.
