14 Passengers Die in Auto crash

Fourteen passengers lost their lives in road accident near Tage Bridge in the Kafin Hausa Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

The tragic incident took place on Monday 9 December 2024 when a passenger vehicle was involved in a crash.

Eyewitness accounts described the scene as horrific, with bodies littered the scene of accident.

The state police through its Public Relations Officer, DSP Shi’isu Adam confirmed the accident

Adam said the driver survived and unhurt currently assisting theb police as to the cause of the accident.

“The identities of the victims have not been released, pending notification of their families,” he said.

Adamu said the accident happened when a Golf 3 wagon, bearing the license plate GML 842 XA, coming from Hadejia town to Makera village, at skudded and fell into the river.

The police spokesperson saod the vehicle’s driver emerged from the accident unhurt and was presently cooperating with the police im their investigation.

“When we got a distress call, our men promptly moved to the scene of the accident, and carried the victims to the nearest Hadejia General Hospital, where a doctor on call confirmed the deaths of eight women, two men and four young men at the scene,” he said.
