Celebrating Justice, Amplifying Voices: Call for Papers on Women and Children’s Rights

In a powerful move to deepen the discourse around women and children’s rights in Nigeria, the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) – Kwara State Chapter in collaboration with the Faculties of Law at the University of Ilorin, Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, and Redeemer’s University, Ede, has issued a Call for Papers for an upcoming publication titled:

“Women and Children’s Rights: A Reader in Honour of Hon. Justice Funsho Dada Lawal”

At a time when access to justice remains a formidable challenge for many women and children globally, this scholarly initiative seeks to highlight solutions, lived experiences, and policy directions that can protect the most vulnerable. From discrimination, violence, and abuse to systemic inequality, this project seeks to give a voice to the voiceless.

Objectives of the Book:

Celebrate the excellence and legacy of Hon. Justice Funsho Dada Lawal, a legal luminary and defender of justice.
Encourage contributions to legal knowledge and practice on gender and children’s rights.
Serve as a rich academic and professional reference for lawyers, academics, policymakers, and the judiciary.

Submission Guidelines:

Contributors are invited to submit well-researched articles (5,000–6,000 words) in Times New Roman, 12pt, justified, and compliant with the Nigerian Association of Law Teachers referencing style. The deadline for submission of extended abstracts is May 31st, 2025, while full papers are due by August 31st, 2025.

• Submission of Abstracts: May 31st, 2025

• Full Paper Submission: August 31st, 2025

• Editorial Review: September 30th, 2025

• Publication: February 2026
